Play it, Jen
Every good movie has a piano player somewhere in the background--
sometimes seen, usually unseen.
Seldom really noticed.
The feeling, the very soul of a scene, is created by that person tinkering at the keys.
It has been said, "All the world's a stage."
Well then...Play it, Jen.
About Me
- Name: Jenny
- Location: Over Yonder, Missouri
I'm a California Native transplanted to the Missouri Ozarks. I've learned how to chase cows in high heels and load hay faster than you can say "Coco Chanel." These are some of our pictures and stories of living in a land with breath-taking beauty and adventure around every bend.

Tree damage from June 3rd storm
I am told that we have some big branches down along our driveway out near the highway. When I get time I'll go down there with the camera. A neighbor just a little way from us has a big tree down in their yard. You can see the direction the storm from came by the path of broken and uprooted trees and the path goes right along to the side and back of our barn. Yikes! I guess we did right in naming this "Weathertop" house.
Structural Damage from June 3rd storms
The storm pulled loose some of the sheet metal on the shop and took a skylight off the roof. The east wall of the barn got blown out and the barn is leaning pretty badly now. The dogs escaped their kennel in the barn and were quite happy to come spend the night in the garage. There was no damage to the house that we can see at this point, it seemed to hold well through the storm. It was pretty freaky watching the windows bow in. They seemed to be at a shattering point but they held and no debris hit them so they remained intact.
This is Smudge
Smudge was born May 1st right before a violent thunderstorm. Seems like everything out here is associated with a thunderstorm lately. Rufus loves to "play" with Smudge by hiding in the tall grass and waiting for Smudge to get close, then he pops up out of the grass and scares the poor calf to pieces. Rufus does this over and over until Squiggy comes over and puts a stop to it.
