Since the Raven video was too long to post to YouTube (there is a 10 minute time limit) we had to post it at LiveVideo so this is a little trailer I cut to post to YouTube to direct the audience there over to LiveVideo.

We won’t know how many tornadoes occurred or how strong they were until the National Weather Service completes storm surveys, and this will likely take a couple days to complete. We spent Saturday clearing up the mess from the ice storm, bringing down damaged trees, cutting up the huge limbs that had broken, stacking what could be used for fire wood and hauling off the rest to the burn pile. It was balmy and sunny and so beautiful. It felt like we were back in So. Calif. I couldn't figure out why the locals out here would be so nervous about weather like that, I was having a great time enjoying the break from the cold. Well, in Calif we don't have tornadoes...

"A tornado killed two people on Monday night. One victim was Nancy Green, 55, who was in a mobile home with her husband on Quarry Road, northeast of Marshfield in Webster County, north of Interstate 44. Her home was hit around 7:30.

The other victim was Rachael Lawson, 85, who lived west of Strafford in Greene County. She died at a hospital in Springfield several hours after her home was flattened. Her daughter and son-in-law, who live next door, found her. A grandson confirmed Lawson's identity.

The National Weather Service has reports of damage to many homes, cell phone towers knocked down and people injured throughout the northern portion of Webster County. The damage is in an area about a mile wide, just north of Interstate 44 between Marshfield and the Laclede County line near Conway.

The NWS has reports of wind damage, with multiple injuries, seven miles south of Dixon in Pulaski County, with homes and outbuildings damaged around Missouri 28 at Cliff Road.

A spokesman for City Utilities of Springfield said, about 11:10, several hundred CU customers were without power in northern and northeast edges of Springfield. A couple of poles snapped in one neighborhood and he said it would be several hours before crews have power restored, but they are working as quickly as possible.

In Phelps County, five homes are confirmed destroyed, including one burned and one was blown off its foundation; five barns were flattened; 25 cattle were killed in one field three miles northeast of Jerome in Phelps County, on County Road 8490, just north of Interstate 44; emergency responders said they have 300 more people to check on, as of 10:20.

The Benton County, Ark., emergency manager says a tornado hit near Rainbow Curve near Benton.

There are reports of many power lines down two miles south of Strafford near the intersection of Farm Road 112 at Farm Road 125.

A spokesman for Southwest Electric Cooperative, based in Bolivar, says its service area is affected from the northeast corner of Springfield to Fellows Lake, to just south of Fair Grove, then down to Strafford, just south of I-44. Crews are assessing the damage and aren't sure how many customers lost power. Several broken poles and lines are on the ground, especially along the Missouri 125 area. All of Southwest's crews have been called in, and will work throughout the night to restore power to the affected areas.

A tornado damaged a mobile home park between Monett and Purdy in northwestern Barry County late Monday afternoon (see separate story). Law enforcement officers spotted a tornado and then started receiving damage reports south and east of Monett about 5:20 p.m.

There is damage to homes and a school in Republic.

Two homes are heavily damaged at Spokane in Christian County. The county Emergency Management director said six homes are severely damaged or destroyed in the Highlandville area, where a search and rescue was underway about 10 p.m. and roads were blocked in various places.

In McDonald County, eight miles west of Washburn, two mobile homes are heavily damaged on Missouri 90 just west of the Barry County line.

One mile south of Wheelerville, trees are down on Missouri 248 at the Barry and Stone county line.

The National Weather Service and the Greene County Office of Emergency Management received reports about homes and other buildings being damaged or destroyed north and west of Strafford. Law officers ask people to stay clear of that area so emergency vehicles will have access.

There are also reports of damage north of Ebenezer, including power lines down.
